Last updated: June 15, 2025

Welcome to SystemDesign.guru. Please read these terms carefully before using the platform.

1. Acceptance of Terms

  • By accessing or using SystemDesign.guru (the "Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.
  • We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

2. Accounts

  • You may browse free content without an account. Creating an account is required for progress tracking, quizzes, and premium features.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account.
  • You must provide accurate information when creating an account and keep it up to date.
  • We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

3. Free and Premium Content

  • The Platform offers both free and premium content. Free content includes topic pages, case studies, quizzes, and the learning roadmap.
  • Premium subscriptions unlock additional features such as interactive mock interviews, advanced study plans, progress analytics, and team collaboration tools.
  • We reserve the right to change what is included in free vs. premium tiers, though we will not retroactively remove access to content you previously had access to under your current subscription.

4. Payments and Subscriptions

  • Premium and Team plans are billed monthly or annually as selected at checkout. Prices are in USD unless otherwise stated.
  • Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled before the renewal date. You can cancel at any time from your account settings.
  • Refunds are available within 14 days of initial purchase if you are not satisfied. After 14 days, refunds are at our discretion.
  • Cohort Bootcamp purchases are one-time payments with a 7-day refund window before the cohort start date.

5. Acceptable Use

  • You agree not to: scrape, crawl, or programmatically access the Platform without permission; redistribute, resell, or publicly republish our content; use the Platform for any unlawful purpose; attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems; impersonate other users or SystemDesign.guru staff.
  • You may share links to our public pages. You may quote short excerpts (under 200 words) with proper attribution and a link back to the source page.
  • Team plan administrators are responsible for ensuring their team members comply with these terms.

6. Intellectual Property

  • All content on SystemDesign.guru — including text, diagrams, illustrations, code examples, quizzes, and design — is the property of SystemDesign.guru or its licensors and is protected by copyright and intellectual property laws.
  • Your use of the Platform does not grant you ownership of any content. You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access content for personal educational use.
  • Code examples provided in tutorials are licensed under the MIT license unless otherwise stated, and may be used in your own projects.

7. User-Generated Content

  • If you submit content (e.g., forum posts, comments, quiz suggestions), you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, display, and distribute that content on the Platform.
  • You retain ownership of your user-generated content and may delete it at any time.
  • We reserve the right to remove user-generated content that violates these terms or is otherwise objectionable.

8. Disclaimers

  • The Platform is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied.
  • We strive for accuracy but do not guarantee that all content is error-free or up-to-date. System design involves trade-offs, and our explanations reflect common industry practices, not absolute truths.
  • We are not responsible for hiring outcomes. While our content is designed to help with system design interviews, we cannot guarantee that you will pass any specific interview.

9. Limitation of Liability

  • To the maximum extent permitted by law, SystemDesign.guru and its team shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Platform.
  • Our total aggregate liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

10. Governing Law

  • These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
  • Any disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration under the rules of the American Arbitration Association, except that either party may seek injunctive relief in court for intellectual property matters.
